Notice for Austin Epilepsy Care Center : Effective 4/14/2020
Until further notice, our office policy as recommended by Austin Public Health and CDC, face masks are required prior to entering our office and building and social distancing guideline will be followed. If you need to bring someone to your appointment as a matter of medical necessity we request a limit of 1 additional person joins you. Please comply with the recommendations for social distancing in our offices.
At this time our doctors currently also offer televisits to patients. To schedule a telemed visit, please call our office. Please view the Televisit consent form found under patient forms here on our website. Please review and send message through your patient portal message section or email us directly at [email protected] "I have reviewed the AECC telemedicine consent form and agree to telemedicine visit" Alternately you can print the form, sign and return to us via fax 512-339-8841 or mail.
As recommended, do not come to your visit if you are considered at risk to be in public and/or if any of the following apply to you:
- experiencing respiratory symptoms
- experiencing shortness of breath
- have a fever
- have cough/sneezing
- have been exposed to anyone recently diagnosed with or have been recently diagnosed with coronavirus
For after hours emergent calls only please call our office at 512-339-8831 and your call will be directed to the answering service Medlink. If you need to reach Medlink directly, please call 512-323-5465.
For non urgent calls, please call during office hours or send messages through your patient portal: https://health.eclinicalworks.com/AECC
After hours messages sent through your patient portal will be addressed the following business day.
Effective August 13, 2021 Dr. Daniel Schere will no longer see patients in our office.
Effective August 31, 2021 Dr. Jeanne Beattie will no longer see patients in our office.
Since 2016 Dr. Daniel Schere and Dr. Jeanne Beattie have been part of Austin Epilepsy Care Center. We appreciate the service and excellent care provided to their patients. With mixed emotions, they decided to pursue another position outside of Austin Epilepsy Care Center. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. If you would like to schedule an appointment with these physicians prior to their last day, please call our office at 512-339-8831 to schedule.
As your medical records will remain with Austin Epilepsy Care Center, we will be able to continue your care at our office with another physician. If you wish to continue care with another physician not affiliated with Austin Epilepsy Care Center, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may transfer your records to the new provider.
As of May 10, 2021 Dr. Diego Tovar-Quiroga will no longer see patients at our offices: Since September 2016 Dr. Diego Tovar-Quiroga has been part of Austin Epilepsy Care Center. We appreciate his service and excellent care Dr. Tovar provided to his patients. With mixed emotions, Dr. Tovar decided to pursue another position outside of Austin Epilepsy Care Center. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Austin Epilepsy Care Center is a comprehensive epilepsy center. We provide multiple treatment options including Medical treatment, Epilepsy surgery, Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS), Responsive Neurostimulation (RNS), Diet , and antiepileptic clinical trials.

The designated Epilepsy Monitoring Unit located at North Austin Medical Center provides state-of-the-art technology for 24 hours 7 days a week evaluation of people with epilepsy. It is located in a hospital named among the Nation’s 100 top Hospitals.
